Hola amigos! Today we’re sharing some ideas for a feisty Mexican-inspired fiesta, which we are helping a dear friend to plan. She is celebrating a big birthday at a great beach-side venue and we can’t wait to get going on the stationery and decor. It’s going to be bright, bold and so much fun…Dee, this one’s for you!
A special friend asked for some inspiration for her birthday lunch. She sent us a link to this party (an amazing website and an incredible woman if you have a chance to read her story) and was hoping we could help with some ideas along a similar theme. She is a bright, sunny person, so we’ve included lots of yellow, along with some greys and greens for an elegant touch. We love the strips of fabric bunting, and little pot plant favors. Thanks for the request Shelly, hope you and everyone else is inspired by today’s moodboard!
Sunday was a very special day for little Mila! She turned 4 and got to celebrate in style at Market in Durban. We met wih Janene, Mila’s mom, a few months ago and she wanted to go with a Princess and Pirates theme for Mila’s party. We were so excited to create this celebration for Janene because she knew what she wanted but let us have free reign with all the design elements and we were so proud of the final result. Thanks Janene for letting us create a special day for your beautiful little princess!
The party was awash with Pink and striped bunting, balloons and little kids running around in pink princess skirts and pirates shirts. Each little guest was given a favour bag when they arrived filled with all the goodies they need to tranform themselves into pirates and princesses for the afternoon. There was a plank to walk, a photobooth made out of vintage frames, a craft station where the little guests could create headbands and pirate boats to float in the tulle-wrapped fountain.
A party for a princess would not be complete without delicious treats and Candice from So Whipped create the most delicious goodies for the desert table. She made everything from nutella sarmies to priate and princess cookies to the most sensational ruffled birthday cake! Candice, you are so super talented and we really enjoyed working with you.
Here are a few of our pictures from the day. Michelle Slack was there to photograph the day for Janene and we will post her party pictures soon.
What could be better than a party in the garden, enjoying a bright sunshiney-day! We had some fun in the garden this weekend shooting our Peter Rabbit Party Kit, perfect for a little person’s birthday or mum-to-be bash. We used very light colours, mostly white with a hint of blue, pink and yellow. We included some Peter Rabbit images on the cake toppers and bunting. You could fill the sweet little bunny box with any kind of munchies, perfect for a party snack or take home favour.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our family as our very special cuz turns 21! She’s a jewelry designer and girlie-girl, so the All That Glitters theme is perfect and really inspiring to work with. Here’s our moodboard of sparkly ideas for a beautifully vintage, glitterati affair. We LOVE the jewel, silver and copper colour combo. Watch this space to see how it all turns out!
We are having so much fun planning Milla Grace’s birthday party. We just had to show you a few bits and pieces that we’re working on. The invitations and bunting are made from the pages of old books. Sorry old book, but you’re being made into something beautiful. We love the felt cloud cover and the bright blue felt ’1′. It’s not pink but we think it is perfectly girlie, perfect for Little Miss Milla. Come back soon to see pictures of Milla’s One upon a Time first birthday party.
Our little miss Milla (my daughter, Gitta’s niece) is going to be turning 1 next month, so you can just imagine the excitement and creative juices currently flowing. She loves her books, especially her bedtime stories snuggled up to her Dada at night, so we are planning a nursery story inspired party to celebrate this amazing little person.
We thought we’d share our moodboard of inspiration for Milla’s One Upon a Time birthday celebration – can’t wait to post the party pics soon!
